Wow, the last few months have been amazing! My good friend Jaime and I have opened a bakery. Yup, you read that right. We are.. Savor The Moment Bakery & Gift Shoppe.
It's a mouth full! lol

What does this mean for you? One of the exciting services we will be offering is our
Cupcake Workshops, hosted by us, your "cupcake fairies". =)
We are hosting both 45 minute and 1 1/2hr parties. Set up and clean up are included.

We provide the yummy cupcakes, bowls of toppings and decor, bags of colored homemade buttercream icing, and our expertise. We will show the little chefs how to pipe icing, make flowers, paint with sugar colors, fashion butterflies, and so much more!

Our "Standard" 45 minute party comes with 4 cupcakes per child to decorate and box up to take home. Minimum 6 children including birthday boy/girl.

Our "Deluxe" 1 1/2 hr party comes with 6 cupcakes per child to decorate and box up to take home. We also include marshmallow fondant and cutters to show the little chefs some additional designs and tricks. Minimum 6 children including birthday boy/girl.

This one is my fav painting that day. This little boy came to me soo desperate to be a "rock star". I was on tight time limitations as far as the designs went, so i made it simple, but the look on his face was awesome! What a rock star!

D/FW Family expo was a blast! Thank you to all who came out to say hi, it was great to see you.
It was a very long day, with set up at 8am and painting from 10-5, but so worth it. I made several great contacts and even booked a few jobs. I can't think of a better way to stretch out the rusty fingers after a winter break from painting. =)

Spring is coming, and that means updating old photos and designs and restocking supplies. I'd better get on it! Easter is right around the corner!

Can't wait to see you all again very soon,

Lifetime Fitness Daddy & Daughter Dance

On Saturday I had the pleasure of attending the Daddy Daughter Formal at Lifetime Fitness in Flower Mound. Let me tell you folks, by the end of the night, there wasn't a dry eye in the place. It was just sweet. Everyone was dressed to perfection and the set up was just gorgeous. It was a great time for all, and as you can see, princess crowns and hearts were the fav of the day.

I love it when things come together like this.

While looking on facebook for his high school friends, my husband Chris located a good friend, Andrea. And wow, what a wonderful lady folks!

And extremely talented to boot!

Needless to say, we hit it off and got our heads together to create our brain child. (Ok, really, she did most of the work. Hehe)

To better my company image, for Andrea to expand into commercial photography as well as urban, we spent an hour at the park painting and taking pictures. I had a blast! My husbands comment when I got home? "Ok, take me with you next time...." Lol!

So Andrea, thank you so much for working with me on this, and I wish you so much success!

I am looking to complete some new "Princess" designs for my portfolio and picture board. The designs are ready, now all I need are faces!

Hi, and thanks for considering Cheeky Designs for your party needs.

ABOUT ME:
My name is Gretchen Ort, I'm 26, and am mom to 3 wonderful little girls.
I started face painting at a friends suggestion and have been painting for almost 3 years now.
I spent my early months of work focused on painting small children. I am so glad for that now because I acquired the patience and skill (steady hand) to work with small, impatient, and wiggly little kiddos. I love what I do and it shows in my work and interaction with the kids.
MY PAINT:
When looking for a face painter, it is crucial that you pay special attention to the paint being used. Not all paint is treated equally. Only FDA approved, cosmetic theatric make-up is supposed to be used for face/body art. Snazaroo, Paradise, Kryolan, Wolfe Bros., Ben Nye, and Star Blend are the only ones I recommend. Any other is likely to leave traces of paint in the pores of the skin causing a reaction. I personally use Paradise Paints only. I have had zero issues in almost 3 yrs with this product. Also, I only use cosmetic glitter, made for body art. If you have any more questions, please contact me. I'd be glad to answer any of your questions about this.
DISCOUNTS:
I appreciate all the things our schools and churches do for our communities, and because of this, I offer a deep discount for those organizations. Any function, and anytime of the season. I will also consider charity work when my schedule allows.
BELLY EMBELLISHMENTS:
In the summer of 05' I discovered the unique art of "Belly Embellishments".
Pregnancy is such a blessed time and we now have so many options for preserving our memories of our unborn child. "Belly Embellishments" is the painting of the pregnant belly. I do this for professional portrait sessions, baby showers, and so much more. The designs are limitless, and usually inspired by the mother. I prefer to paint between 6 and 8 months gestation to allow for just the right shape. Please feel free to contact me for more information about this emerging art, or take a look at the Belly Embellishments post for some examples.
PRICES AND OPTIONS:
For Face Painting, the price is the same for Cheek Art, Masks, and Full Face Designs. The difference is time needed. IE:
Cheek Art- covers 1/2 of the face or less. I can paint appx. 25 an hour.
Masks- covers half the face typically. I can paint appx. 15 an hour.
Full Face- covers 3/4 of the face or more. I can paint appx. 10 an hour.

Face painting, within a 25 mile radius of Richardson, is $75.00 an hour. I have a one hour minimum. If outside of 25 miles, I will require a $10.00 gas fee. This is subject to change if/when gas prices rise again. If you book 3 or more hours, the prices drops to $65.00 an hour.
